Audeo

or "to dare" to write such lines:

"But if I could step outside myself
and contemplate the person that I am
I should know at last what envy is."

from the final lines of Akhmatova's "This Cruel Age Has Deflected Me," which I am re-reading for my poetry workshop.

Too busy just now to say much more (Latin, then Theory, then pick up boy 2 and make dinner, then back for Poetry, then--perhaps--a well-deserved beer [maybe a gin & tonic?] with some new friends).

I thought, however, that these lines--great and audacious as they are--should be posted here on this long, long Monday.
